Princess Cut Diamonds and the Recession Economy

Princess cut diamond engagement rings are some of the most elastic items in the luxury shopping industry.  The princess cut diamond is such a classic reminder of love and elegance, that men often remain committed to purchasing their princess cut diamond ring in spite of the economy.  It’s not just engagement rings, though, many men go after their early Christmas or anniversary gifts as matching princess cut diamond earrings.  There is no doubt that softer economies will force the future grooms to scale down or resize their engagement rings.  However, the princess cut is often kept, especially if it is something that his significant other is after.

Taking the Princess Cut Beyond Engagement Rings

I often look for different pieces of jewelry that would look good with a princess cut diamond ring, besides engagement rings.  The truth is, it is a delicate art.  I have even taken to designing and creating my own pieces with princess cut diamonds, but it’s slow going until I sell a few - those diamonds are expensive!  Anyway, I have yet to see a pair of earrings that elegantly placed princess cut diamonds on them.  They always seem like forced add-ons.  Shoot me some pictures if you have something that can prove me wrong, I need some inspiration.

Princess Cut Diamond Ring Alternatives

Want a platinum princess diamond ring, but can’t afford the prince? Some princess cut diamond ring alternatives include:
* Non-Certified Gems: Rings with certified diamonds, of course, are more expensive than rings with less documentation.
* Carat Weight: Smaller carat weight costs less, but the cut holds up well.
* Alternate Metals: platinum ring too much, other options include white metals such as white gold, titanium, or silver for a more affordable design.
* Cubic Zirconia: Probably a last resort is going with cubic zirconia instead of diamonds.
